Wow… what an insane year!! I usually do a little wrap up in one of my other journals. I’ll do it here instead this time.

I know it’s a lot of pop.. but I am pretty much forced to listen to top 40 all day at work. I can’t help it!

The moments that made the year:

1. Without a doubt, moment of the year is every moment I spend with my girlfriend. Every day since the 19th of January has been the best day. I’ve met someone amazing who treats me like gold and who challenges me and makes me a part of their life. I’m completely happy in a relationship, for the first time, ever. And her family love and accept us… bonus!

2. Watching my sister get married. So I cried through the entire ceremony. I got to be maid of honour. It was a great day and I got to see allll my family.

3. Alllll the travel! OH MY GOD! Vancouver Island, New York City, Turks and Caicos, Seattle, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Kelowna, Montreal, Australia, Santa Monica. It’s been an epic year.

4. Management conference in Turks and Caicos. My new mental happy place at work. Hanging out with Kelly, strolling between the beach and the bar and floating around in the most gorgeous aqua blue water that I have ever seen.

5. Getting promoted to Assistant Manager- or well, my job in general. It drives me insane, but I really do love it. I feel like I’m acheiving something for the first time ever.

6. Bumbershoot! Epic weekend- got to see Maps played live, got kicked in the head in the Black Eye Peas moshpit. Got to meet Leisha Hailey!

7. Live music… it’s been a pretty decent year- Tegan and Sara, Bloc Party, Kings of Leon, Ani Difranco, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric, Sheryl Crowe. Good good times.

8. My birthday. Awesome weekend. Got lots of pressies, went to my favourite restaurant, drank wayyyy too much. Everyone came to dinner and it was a great night all round. One of the best birthdays fer sure.

9. Road trip bonanza with Cherie and Gimma. We hired a car and drove around Oregon for three days. Good good times were had.

10. Living in Canada. I feel happy that I made my dream come true and that a year on I’m still having a ball.

Like I said.. it’s pretty much been an epic year. I feel settled and happy in a way I never have before. There’s some exciting stuff around the corner and I can’t wait to get stuck into it. Things are good.
